Limitless Session: Learning How to Learn

Round two of the Klub’s Limitless unit dropped the room reading and went straight at the mechanics of learning itself. Kwik’s book argues most people never learned how to learn, they just learned how to sit through school, and the group agreed that describes most sales training too. Larry’s own checklist for this is PQRST, preview, question, read, summarize, test, a prep sequence built for walking into a room, not for a final exam.

Members walked through a real deal packet using PQRST like a study guide, previewing the whole file before touching a single page closely. The question step forced everyone to write down what confused them before they were tempted to fake understanding in front of the group. Reading came third on purpose, because Larry’s point is that you read with better focus once you already know what you are hunting for.

Summarizing out loud caught two members who thought they understood a clause but could not explain it back in one sentence. The test step was the harshest, a rapid-fire round of questions from the rest of the table with no notes allowed.

One member called it External API in practice, since the checklist borrows a logic that shows up across serious study methods, know your question before you read, and Kwik’s book leans on the same idea. Larry’s point to the room was that a franchise does not need a new invention, and neither does a study method that already works.

The Klub logged which step each person skips under pressure, since that is the step most likely to cost a deal later. Learning how to learn, in this room, meant learning how to walk into a meeting already five steps ahead of the material.
