The Klub at Paseo: A Night on Rainey

Rainey Street already pulls a crowd every night of the week, so the Klub met at Paseo instead of trying to build its own room from nothing. That is External API again, just louder: run your gathering on someone else’s foot traffic and someone else’s bar license. Nobody rented the whole place, the Klub took a corner, ordered early, and let the regular Rainey Street energy do the rest.

People still showed up dressed like the meeting mattered, ties on a few of the younger guys, because SuperModel presence does not take a night off just because the venue is casual. Phones stayed in pockets more than usual for a bar, the same discipline Larry teaches for any room: no phone, hold the listening position, keep a pen out. The book that night got maybe twenty minutes of actual discussion before it turned into three separate side conversations about real deals in progress.

Karma showed up in small moves, someone picked up a round, someone else tipped double and mentioned it to no one. A few guests were new to Rainey Street entirely and had to be walked through which bar was which before the group found Paseo.

The noise made note-taking harder than usual, so a couple of people admitted afterward that PQRST prep saved them from losing the thread completely. One attendee left with an actual follow-up meeting on the calendar, which is the only metric this group really tracks.

The venue has no official Klub partnership or address on file, it is just a bar that happened to be the right size that night. Ask around and most people describe it less as a bar night and more as a working session that happened to serve drinks.
