Run Your Hustle on Someone Else’s Machine

Larry calls it an External API.

Plug your venture into something that already exists and already works.

Tutoring the SAT is an external API to the College Board.

A watch party is an external API to Formula 1.

A book club is an external API to an author.

Someone spent three years writing your content for you.

In each case someone else built the machine, the audience, the trust.

You build only the last mile.

The rule that keeps it honest: DJ two things that exist.

Never two things that don’t.

Invention is expensive and slow. Combination is cheap and fast.

Stop building engines. Start building adapters.
