Today at Pre Book club book club i failed at the most simple task. Buying a Coffee.

I walk into Paseo 7:27 am. Immediately go to the Daydreamer Coffee Bar and buy a coffee. While the barista poured my coffee on the other side of the bar, I tipped them a $10 bill in their jar. She turned around, handed me my coffee. I took my coffee and sat down.
What was so wrong about this scenario?

1 I walked in lowkey, very softly greeted one person and ordered my coffee then sat down. So i was treated just like a normal guest . Not like the Best Guest who’s also Hosting Book Club at Paseo to Push Paseo Apartments.

2 Was so focused on getting my coffee, I Completly forgot to buy my guest and mentor Larry Chinag his favorite drink. Hot chocolate, extra hot, extra chocolaty. With an extra to go cup for water.

3 Not making myself known and working the room properly costs me money today instead of making me money.

Because of this i didnt win the new coffeshop barista by being a minimal viable guest just doing a transaction. Versus What Would Larry Chiang Do in this situation?

Larry Chiang walks in, raises his arms with enthusiasim, announces his arrival, shares that he tipped the $10 and introuded me do it gives them energy and momentum to start the day and introduces them toa new friend.
